Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks, personal vehicles, or commercial trucks to deliver goods across designated routes
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment like pallet jacks or load bars
- Adhere strictly to traffic regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and safe lifting practices during all deliveries
- Manage delivery documentation accurately via mobile devices or other digital tools
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery status, and any issues encountered
- Ensure proper weight handling in the workplace by following safety protocols for heavy lifting and manual handling
- Provide excellent customer service by representing the company professionally during deliveries and pickups
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, courier, or hotshot driver with a strong understanding of route driving and delivery procedures
- Warehouse experience including material handling equipment operation such as pallet jacks and moving supplies safely
- Familiarity with commercial driving licenses (CDL) or personal vehicle delivery requirements; experience with manual transmission is a plus
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, heavy lifting techniques, and safe manual handling practices
- Ability to adhere to traffic regulations and DOT standards consistently while maintaining punctuality
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and customers effectively
- Comfort using mobile devices for route navigation, delivery tracking, and reporting
