Job Overview
The Production Manager will lead production operations to ensure customer orders are completed accurately, safely, and on time. This role requires strong leadership skills, a focus on continuous improvement, and the ability to manage production schedules, labor utilization, inventory flow, and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily production operations involving trailer tires, wheels, assemblies, and trailer parts.
- Develop and execute production schedules to meet customer demand and shipping deadlines.
- Monitor productivity, labor efficiency, and production output.
- Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors, leads, and team members.
- Ensure all products meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
- Maintain compliance with all safety policies, OSHA requirements, and company procedures.
- Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate with Purchasing, Inventory, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to ensure material availability.
- Monitor inventory levels and minimize production downtime caused by material shortages.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) including productivity, quality, attendance, safety, and on-time completion.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Conduct employee performance evaluations and assist with disciplinary and corrective action processes when necessary.
- Ensure proper staffing levels and participate in hiring, training, and onboarding production employees.
- Maintain accurate production records and reports.
Experience
- Proven experience in manufacturing or production management within a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams and drive operational excellence.
- Excellent organizational skills with an eye for detail and process optimization.
- Knowledge of safety standards, quality assurance protocols, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement effective solutions swiftly.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and convey expectations clearly.
- Technical proficiency with production management software or ERP systems is preferred.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
