Overview
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in industrial electrical work, demonstrating proficiency in handling various electrical systems and equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in a variety of settings, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
Duties
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in a manufacturing facility
- Maintain all components required to control machinery, including switches, sensors, programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, and machine operator interface units (HMIs)
- Recognize and effectively identify hazards and correct electrical defects
- Perform preventative maintenance on all electrical systems and equipment
- Inspect and maintain motors, switches, junction boxes, switch panels, circuit breakers, transformers, fuse panels, and lighting
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical installations
- Install electrical conduit and pull wire
- Maintain efficiency and safety of all plant electrical circuits, assembles, and equipment
- Troubleshoot and install encoders, linear transducers, and advanced sensors
- Identify and help implement process improvements to optimize performance and production
- Effectively troubleshoot issues for best resolution while staying calm in stressful situations
- Communicate effectively, comprehend, and follow complicated verbal and written instructions
- Perform general maintenance in a safe and efficient manner and maintain a clean work area
- Work may consist of overtime during busy production times
Requirements
- 2 years' experience as an industrial electrician
- Understanding of industrial electrical safety, MCCs, three-phase power, running conduit, lighting, electrical, and hydraulic systems required
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers and their programming, preferable
- Read and understand blueprints, schematics, and circuit diagrams
- Experience working with both high voltage and low voltage systems.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment, such as ohmmeters, effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all tasks performed.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
Work Hours
- 1 position - 3:30 am - 12 noon
- 1 position - 5:00 am - 1:30 pm
- 1 position - 7:00 pm - 3:30 am
