The Technology Manager has primary responsibility for all computer and communications technology, both administrative and academic. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Technology Manager leads the selection and implementation of operations technology and systems that are user-friendly, efficient, streamlined, secure, and budget-conscious. Working with heads of school to determine educational and programmatic technology solutions, the Technology Manager ensures cutting edge educational technology in keeping with the Academy curriculum and educational programming.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
A. Policy, Planning, and Disaster Recovery
- Works closely with Archdiocese’s Technology Team to monitor and maintain all aspects of the campus network, including virtual servers, internet connectivity and network security
- Provides leadership in the development, implementation, evaluation and updating of the school’s technology plan including technical priorities, standards and procedures and staff productivity
- Assists the administration in the development of policies on acceptable use of the network, and the security and integrity of the network
- Develops, implements and evaluates an annual technology in-service plan
- Oversee the overall Academy IT budget, including securing bids for new hardware and/or upgrades to existing infrastructure, and manage the purchase and/or renewal of software licenses
- Manage all Academy hardware and software, including: school servers, computer network, school Internet connectivity and e-mail systems, VoIP phone system, all technical issues, monitoring of software licensing agreements, school website and other web-based communication platforms.
- Act as primary administrator for all aspects of the Academy’s Google environment
- Responsible for set up and break down of AV equipment and provide any necessary IT support for events and activities on campus
- In coordination with the Facilities Office, manage all aspects of physical security across campus including door access, cameras, parking tags, faculty/staff fobs, and student ID cards
- Develop and implement a strategic technology plan for ongoing evaluation of existing hardware and software and the subsequent upgrades for all systems
- Acts as a resource person to faculty and staff in review and acquisition of software
C. Relationship to Administration and Staff
- Represent the IT Office on the Direct Report and Academy Operations Committees
- Assume a leadership role in the development and implementation of the technology plan.
- Deliver reports to the administration and faculty concerning the implementation and evaluation of the technology plan
- Manage annual technology inventory.
- Collaborate with Academy leadership to determine technology needs for meeting programmatic strategy and goals.
- Ensure that the technological needs of the faculty and staff are met through ongoing assessment and subsequent training.
- Use available data and reporting to ensure that current technology solutions are meeting division needs.
- Stay updated on trends and best practices in technology in education, and share ideas with other staff.
Qualification Requirements
3+ Years of experience in Education Technology
Qualification preferences
- Demonstrated knowledge of planning, purchasing, installing and maintaining physical technology in an educational setting
- Demonstrated knowledge of latest computer, video, and web based technologies and their use in curriculum design
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholder groups.

- Demonstrated knowledge of how to use student data to prioritize professional development needs
