Our client is looking to add a motivated Payroll Administrator to their US HR Services Team.
Key Accountabilities:
- Accountable and responsible for all aspects of payroll service and processing for employees.
- Contacts and assists employees in the process of obtaining information for payroll processing and tax related issues; verifies totals, responds to and resolves employee questions and problems in a timely manner, delivering quality customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzes, prepares and accurately keys all payroll related data necessary to process and meet schedules.
- Verification of weekly time-keeping records.
- Resolving payroll discrepancies and errors.
- Processes garnishments, support orders, FTO (flexible time off), insurance premiums and 401(k) deductions.
- Routinely audits payroll, hours worked, FTO accruals, tax deductions, tax filings, and benefit deductions.
- Maintains accurate, current electronic payroll and personnel files and routinely uploads paper files.
- Assists employees with inquiries regarding payroll issues and time off accruals.
- Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with employees, agencies and co-workers.
- Keeps abreast of the payroll processing system and changes in payroll laws and regulations including wage and tax laws, and corresponds with federal, state and local tax agencies throughout the United States on behalf of the employer.
- Monitors electronic time clocks and reviews punches in employee’s timecards for completeness and accuracy.
- Distribute temporary employees’ timecards to appropriate agency every week.
- Completes all verification of employments within 24 hours.
- Prepares appropriate payroll reports as needed by the Finance Department.
- Prepares, completes and submits any State or Federal payroll reporting requirements.
- Ensures all requests for audit documentation is completed in a timely manner.
- Partners with HR Generalist during open enrollment to ensure benefit deductions are accurate for new plan year.
- Prepares and processes end of year payroll processing.
- Routinely provides back up support to the front desk as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the HR Manager.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or GED or Associate’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in payroll or similar role
- Experience with payroll processing interface and software systems
- Computer literacy w/databases and MS Office and Excel
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to problem solve complex payroll issues
- Ability to work within a team environment and with external partners
- Must be self-motivated and able to achieve results
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
- FPC Certification
- A minimum of 5+ years’ experience working in payroll or similar role
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now interface and payroll processing software system Experience processing payroll for multiple states
- Intermediate to advance Excel experience
- Advance knowledge of basic accounting principles and payroll practices.
- High numerical aptitude
Pay: $25.50 - $29.00 per hour
