Position Overview
Young Musicians Unite is seeking a highly creative, detail-oriented Graphic Designer to bring our brand to life across every platform and audience.
This role is responsible for designing high-quality print and digital marketing materials that elevate YMU's visibility, engage donors and supporters, inspire students and families, and promote events, fundraising campaigns, and educational programs.
The ideal candidate has exceptional design skills, understands both digital and print production, embraces AI-powered creative tools, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced nonprofit environment. This is an in-office position based in Miami, working closely with the Marketing team and other departments.
Key Responsibilities
Brand & Marketing Design
- Design compelling marketing materials that strengthen and maintain the YMU brand.
- Create a wide variety of print and digital assets, including:
- Event flyers
- Posters
- Brochures
- Annual reports
- Impact reports
- Booklets and magazines
- Signage
- Banners
- Invitations
- Presentation decks
- Merchandise (t-shirts, hats, promotional items)
- Social media graphics
- Email graphics
- Website graphics
- Digital advertisements
- Ensure all creative work aligns with YMU's brand standards and visual identity.
Print Production
- Prepare professional print-ready files for commercial production.
- Manage specifications for large-format printing, signage, promotional products, apparel, and publications.
- Work directly with print vendors to ensure quality, color accuracy, and timely delivery.
- Understand bleeds, trim, color profiles, file packaging, and production requirements.
Digital Design
- Optimize designs across web, email, social media, and digital advertising platforms.
- Resize and adapt creative assets for multiple channels.
- Design engaging visual content that supports fundraising, events, sponsorships, and community engagement.
Creative Collaboration
- Partner with the Marketing team to develop creative concepts and campaign visuals.
- Collaborate with internal departments to translate ideas into impactful visual communications.
- Maintain organized design files, templates, and asset libraries.
AI & Creative Innovation
- Leverage AI-powered creative tools to improve design workflows, generate concepts, edit images, create mockups, and increase productivity.
- Stay current on emerging design trends, AI technologies, and creative best practices.
- Use AI responsibly while maintaining originality, brand consistency, and high-quality design standards.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 3+ years of professional graphic design experience.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence across both print and digital design.
- Expert proficiency in:
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe InDesign
- Canva
- Claude Design
- Experience designing for both commercial print production and digital platforms.
- Strong understanding of typography, layout, color theory, branding, and visual storytelling.
- Experience preparing production-ready files for printers.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to receive feedback and collaborate effectively across teams.
Preferred
- Experience using AI design tools such as Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT, Midjourney, Canva AI, Codex or similar creative technologies.
- Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, or other video editing software.
- Motion graphics or animation experience.
- Photography and basic photo editing skills.
- Video editing.
- Experience designing for nonprofit organizations, education, arts, or mission-driven brands.
Software Proficiency
- Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign required)
- Google Workspace
- Canva
- Asana
- AI-powered creative tools such as Claude, Codex.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $55,000–$65,000, commensurate with experience

Work Location
This is a full-time, in-person position based in Miami, Florida. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this role.
