Now Hiring: Senior Nuclear QA Consultant / NQA-1 Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Senior Nuclear Quality Assurance Consultant / NQA-1 Specialist to support a ground-up Nuclear Quality Assurance program implementation.
This is a remote, project-based 1099 contract opportunity with potential occasional travel to client locations. The engagement is expected to run approximately 6–12 months, with a competitive hourly rate based on experience.
The consultant will help design, draft, and deploy an NQA-1 compliant quality program aligned with commercial nuclear requirements, including 10 CFR 50 Appendix B / NUPIC expectations, as well as DOE quality assurance frameworks.

Key focus areas:
· Developing NQA-1 Quality Assurance manuals and supporting technical procedures
· Strengthening design control processes for structural calculations, electrical load studies, independent design verification, and drawing control
· Establishing Software QA, verification and validation, and commercial-grade dedication approaches for engineering analysis tools
· Supporting training, onboarding, and nuclear safety culture alignment for engineering teams
· Preparing for internal mock audits and external qualification readiness reviews
Preferred qualifications:
· 7–10+ years developing, implementing, or auditing ASME NQA-1 quality programs in nuclear power or DOE environments
· Strong technical writing capability and experience producing quality manuals, procedures, audit-ready documentation, or implementation plans
· Familiarity with engineering workflows, structural design codes, electrical safety systems, and engineering analysis software
· NQA-1 Lead Auditor certification is preferred, but exceptional technical writing and implementation experience will also be considered
· Must be able to operate as an independent contractor with appropriate business registration and insurance
