PRIMARY FUNCTION : This position is responsible for working in manufacturing environment to
troubleshoot automated machinery using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). Create schematics,
troubleshoot and edit programs, and test the efficacy of the installed program while using advanced
knowledge of electrical processes and procedures ensuring all work is performed in a safe manner.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Draw electrical schematics to demonstrate how a process works
- Troubleshoot and edit machine programs using automation software
- Test automated systems for efficiency, safety and reliability
- Troubleshoot any system errors and malfunctions
- Troubleshoots motor controls using wiring diagrams, logic flow control, and all related test equipment
- Troubleshoots magnetic circuits at 480 voltage and below.
- Maintains and evaluates existing electrical systems for circuitry continuity and operational reliability
using electronic test equipment
- Inspects, tests, adjusts complex electronic assemblies, subassemblies, parts and systems for compliance
with specifications following blueprints, schematic drawings, inspection manuals, using hand tools and
precision testing equipment
- Repairs machines throughout the facility
- Support and/or participate in the organization’s Continuous Improvement Programs
- Proactively participates in the Safety Program
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Knowledge of electrical processes and procedures, and implement techniques accurately
and efficiently
- knowledge of motor controls, wiring diagrams and related test equipment
- knowledge of PLC programs and operator interface units, induction equipment, SCR
systems, Inverter/rectifier systems, and variable frequency drives.
- Working knowledge of forging presses, manipulators, drilling machines, milling machines,
heat treat equipment.
- Knowledge of serial and ethernet data communication protocols
- Ability to read and interpret plans and drawings and apply as appropriate.
- Ability to identify complex issues and provide optimal solutions to maintain quality electrical
systems for the plant.
- Ability to use personal computer to troubleshoot electronic control systems.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
- Team oriented and the ability to operate with a diverse group
2nd shift start time is 5pm – the idea is to bring in a qualified technician on 1st shift for 90 days, then transfer to 2nd shift. The approved pay rate is $30 - $35/hr depending on experience.
