Air Import Agent
PURPOSE
The Air Import Agent is responsible for all aspects of assigned accounts by processing import and export shipments. The Air Import Agent will assist with duties such as, preparation of documents and coordination of traffic required to process goods through customs timely and by Company standards.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with customers, customs brokers, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient import operations.
- Prepare and manage import documentation, including air waybills, customs declarations, and invoices.
- Track shipments to ensure timely arrival and delivery, providing updates to customers, and resolving any exceptions or delays.
- Prepare accurate invoices, managing payments, and ensuring compliance with billing procedures.
- Ensure adherence to customs regulations, company policies, and other relevant requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries, addressing concerns, and building strong customer relationships.
- Input shipment data into systems and maintaining accurate records.
- Receive freight, assessing charges, and collecting fees for shipments.
- Negotiate with freight carriers, customs brokers, and other parties to obtain favorable rates and terms.
- Other duties may be assigned by management due to business change or business need.
SKILLS ESSENTIAL TO THE JOB
Technical
· Windows Operating System
· MS Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and Access)
Business
· Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in logistics/freight forwarding industry, preferred
· Thorough understanding of air shipment documentation process, a plus
· Possess excellent data entry skills and customer service skills with the ability to grasp extensive knowledge whole dealing with a variety of people
· Demonstrated critical thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and risks, and identifying alternative solutions or approaches
· Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
· Ability to multi-task and work independently
· Time management skills
Human Relations
· Self-motivated, with an ability to self-manage
· Strong interpersonal/communication skills
· Team player

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
