Position Summary
Premier Professional Surgery Center is seeking an experienced Circulating Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). This role requires strong perioperative skills along with working knowledge of infection prevention and control standards consistent with Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines.
The ideal candidate will support safe surgical care while assisting with infection control activities, surveillance, and compliance within the ASC.
Key Responsibilities
Circulating Nurse Duties:
- Function as the circulating nurse in the operating room, ensuring patient safety and sterile technique
- Perform and document surgical time-outs and patient verification processes
- Coordinate intraoperative care with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with ASC policies and regulatory standards
Infection Control Responsibilities:
- Support the ASC’s Infection Prevention Program in alignment with AAAHC standards
- Assist with infection surveillance, tracking, and reporting (e.g., surgical site infections)
- Ensure adherence to sterilization, high-level disinfection, and environmental cleaning protocols
- Participate in audits (hand hygiene, sterilization logs, equipment reprocessing)
- Assist in staff education on infection prevention practices
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, CDC, and ASC policies
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
- Minimum 1-2 years of expierence
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Working knowledge of infection control principles and regulatory requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- CNOR certification
- Experience serving as or assisting an Infection Control Officer in an ASC
- Knowledge of sterilization standards (e.g., autoclave monitoring, biological indicators)
- Experience with quality improvement and audit processes
Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
