Job Summary
St. Aloysius Parish School is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and faith-filled Kindergarten Teacher. The ideal candidate will create a warm, structured classroom atmosphere where young learners feel inspired to grow in knowledge, independence, and faith. This educator will lead students on a journey of early discovery, building strong foundational academic skills while serving as an authentic witness to the Catholic faith.
Key Responsibilities
- Faith Formation: Integrate Catholic teachings, prayers, and values into everyday instruction and classroom culture.
- Instructional Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons in early literacy, mathematics, and exploratory science and STEM aligned with archdiocesan curriculum standards.
- Differentiated Learning: Use data-informed strategies to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs and learning styles.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a respectful, joyful, and well-managed learning environment using positive behavior strategies.
- Communication & Collaboration: Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding academic progress and behavioral issues.
- Supervisory Duties: Maintain an active leadership presence during school-wide transition times, including hall monitoring, lunch/recess, and dismissal.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
- Certification: Valid state teaching certification is preferred.
- Faith & Ministry: Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church to teach religion.
- Clearances: Must successfully pass all state-mandated criminal history and child abuse background checks.
- Safe Environment Training: Compliance with archdiocesan child protection training (e.g., Virtus "Protecting God's Children") required by start date.
- Skills: Proficiency with basic educational technology (e.g., smartboards, Google Classroom) and excellent interpersonal communication.
