Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately,
- Manage medication inventory, perform data entry into pharmacy software systems, and ensure proper storage of pharmaceuticals in accordance with pharmaceutical regulatory compliance.
- Conduct pharmaceutical calculations to verify dosages and ensure safe medication administration, adhering to state and federal pharmacy laws.
- Support patient care by providing medication information, answering questions about drug interactions, and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Ensure accurate documentation of medication intake, drug regulation compliance, and pharmacy records while maintaining high standards of accuracy in data entry.
- Assist with hospital or community pharmacy operations, including medication preparation for acute care settings or outpatient services.
- Uphold safety protocols during IV compounding, sterile procedures, and drug regulation adherence to guarantee patient safety and regulatory compliance.
Skills
- Proven experience as a pharmacy technician with LTC (Long-Term Care), critical care, clinical pharmacy, or hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacological terminology, and pharmaceutical calculations.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems for medication management and data entry.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient service and patient care.
- Ability to perform aseptic techniques and sterile IV admixture procedures accurately.
- Knowledge of state healthcare regulations, drug regulation policies, and federal pharmacy laws.
- Competence in handling medication administration processes within hospital or community settings while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Basic life support certification is a plus to support emergency response readiness.
