Job Title: Chemical Plant Operator
Duties:
- Prepares for chemical processes by studying batch records and setting up process systems and controls
- Produces substances by initiating, monitoring, and controlling processes and completing analyses
- Maintains quality standards by collecting and testing samples, completing in-process tests, and adjusting process controls
- Maintains processing system by investigating warnings and malfunctions, performing or requesting required maintenance, cleaning-up after processing, completing vessel maintenance, and monitoring tank truck loading and unloading
- Improves processing system by identifying problems, evaluating, then recommending new methods
- Documents processing by completing logs and batch records
- Maintains processing environment by following safety, health, and environmental standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations; and responding to crises
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
- Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
Compensation:
- All Chemical Operators start at $32.89/hr. upon hiring at Lacamas, and currently have a maximum earnings cap of $50.80/hr. Shift differential is available for night shift
- This is a fast moving, hands-on production environment with lots of potential for advancement and a generous compensation package including Medical, Dental and 401k
Shift Schedule:
- Because Lacamas Laboratories is a 24/7 operation, Chemical Operators are required to work a rotating Fireman schedule of 12-hour shifts that switches from days to nights every 2 months
- Shifts are from 6am - 6pm and 6pm - 6am
- Candidates will only be considered if they can work this rotating schedule
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to wear a respirator and chemical suits for potentially long periods of time.
- Respirators must have a good seal on the face to be effective so full beards are not allowed
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs/23 kg
- Must be able to be on your feet for at least 10 hours per day
Experience:
- Must have manufacturing experience
- Priority will be given to candidates with chemical manufacturing experience
- Forklift experience a plus
