Job Summary
We are seeking a Business Bookkeeper. This role is responsible for the integrity of our daily accounting cycle while providing the sophisticated financial insights necessary for a healthcare provider. You will not only manage the general ledger, but also interpret the data to help drive operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Accounting: Manage the daily general ledger, execute month-end closes, and produce comprehensive financial statements.
- Treasury & Cash Flow: Monitor bank activity daily, manage cash transfers, and perform cash flow forecasting to ensure liquidity across multiple regions.
- Analytical Reporting: Transform standard financial reports into actionable insights, utilizing Excel for trend analysis.
- Compliance & Audit Lead: Serve as the primary lead for year-end audit workpapers, property tax filings, and Census Bureau reporting.
- Medicare & Regulatory Oversight by ensuring strict compliance with federal healthcare regulations.
- Interdepartmental Partnership: Act as the financial liaison for Human Resources regarding payroll and benefits administration.
- Systems Optimization: Provide technical oversight for Solomon (accounting software) for Accounts Payable.
Skills & Qualifications
- The "Hybrid" Mindset: Ability to toggle between clerical accuracy (deposits, runs) and high-level financial strategy.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of double-entry systems.
- Advanced Analytics: Mastery of Excel and the ability to explain complex financial data to non-finance staff.
- Self-Starter: Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet strict deadlines without supervision.
- Integrity: Maintaining the highest level of confidentiality regarding patient (HIPAA), employee, and corporate financial data.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Education: MBA in Finance or a Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting preferred, with a heavy emphasis on financial analysis.
- Experience: 3+ years of professional financial experience. Must have a proven track record of "full-charge" bookkeeping duties combined with corporate financial analysis.
- Systems: Proficiency in Solomon and Excel is highly desirable.
- Industry: Experience in Healthcare or Ancillary Health Services is a major plus.
