$16.30 per hour (second shift bonus of $0.50 per hour)

Are you passionate about preserving historical documents and making them accessible online? Are you interested in working with materials from around the world? If so, you might be the perfect fit for our Digitization Technician role.
As a Digitization Technician at Backstage Library Works (Backstage), you will be part of a production team that digitizes rare books, manuscripts, maps, newspapers, photographs, and other cultural heritage materials for libraries, archives, museums, and other institutions around the world. You will learn the proper handling and preparation techniques of rare and fragile documents for digital preservation. You will use proprietary software to collect metadata to ensure the digital preservation of materials is both complete and correct from languages around the world.

Responsibilities
- Digitize documents and records using scanning equipment and software.
- Organize and maintain digital files and databases for easy access.
- Assist with collating archival materials before the digitization process.
- Visually inspect images for quality and completeness
- Keying of metadata derived from digital images
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient digitization processes.
- Utilize computer skills to navigate Adobe Photoshop and Windows for editing tasks.
- Maintain strong production levels and consistently good quality work.
