About the Role
We are a growing medical device company located in Katy, Texas seeking an experienced, hands-on Chief Operating Officer to lead and improve our day-to-day operations.
The COO will oversee manufacturing, warehouse operations, inventory control, supply chain, production planning, quality execution, and operational performance. This person must be a strong operator who can improve processes, develop leaders, increase accountability, and drive measurable results across the business.
This is an on-site executive role for someone with deep experience in medical device, regulated manufacturing, warehouse operations, and operational leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily operations across manufacturing, warehouse, inventory, supply chain, purchasing, logistics, and distribution.
Improve production efficiency, on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, labor productivity, and overall operational performance.
Create structure, accountability, KPIs, and a disciplined operating rhythm across the company.
Oversee warehouse performance including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, cycle counts, lot/serial traceability, and inventory controls.
Partner with Quality and Regulatory teams to support FDA, ISO 13485, GMP, CAPA, audit readiness, and compliance requirements.
Develop and coach operations leaders, including manufacturing, warehouse, supply chain, and production management.
Identify process gaps, leadership gaps, cost-saving opportunities, and operational risks.
Improve gross margin, reduce waste, strengthen planning, and support scalable growth.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 15 years of operations leadership experience in manufacturing, warehouse operations, supply chain, or regulated production environments.
Minimum 5 years of prior COO experience or equivalent senior operating executive experience.
Direct experience leading both manufacturing and warehouse/distribution operations.
Medical device industry experience strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of regulated manufacturing environments, including FDA, ISO 13485, GMP, CAPA, inventory traceability, and audit readiness.
Proven ability to improve operational performance, accountability, cost control, inventory accuracy, and on-time delivery.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems, production planning, warehouse controls, KPIs, and operational reporting.
Strong financial understanding of COGS, gross margin, labor efficiency, inventory turns, and working capital.
Must be willing to work on-site in Katy, Texas.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Lean, Six Sigma, APICS/ASCM, or ISO 13485 training preferred.
Experience in a privately held, founder-led, or fast-growing mid-sized company.
Compensation
Base salary range depending on experience.
Annual performance bonus opportunity available.
Final compensation will be based on prior COO experience, medical device manufacturing experience, operational turnaround experience, and ability to lead warehouse, manufacturing, supply chain, and regulated operations.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a hands-on COO who can walk the production floor, understand warehouse flow, hold leaders accountable, improve systems, protect quality, and help the company scale. This role requires urgency, discipline, strong leadership, and a proven ability to turn operational challenges into measurable business improvement.
