We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Spanish-speaking Medical Front Desk Coordinator to join our healthcare team! Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients with warmth and professionalism, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and conduct insurance verification using systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or Dentrix.
- Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software; manage multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette.
- Collect patient information accurately, review medical records, and update electronic health records.
- Facilitate patient intake processes, including documentation review and data entry with high typing accuracy (10 key typing).
- Handle billing and collections activities related to medical services, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other confidentiality policies.
- Maintain organized filing of medical records, manage health records , and ensure all documentation aligns with clinical confidentiality policies.
- Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies to keep the front desk running smoothly.
Requirements
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is essential for effective communication with diverse patient populations.
- Prior experience working in a medical office environment or clinic setting is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, ICD coding standards, and health insurance processes including Medicare preferred but not required.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally and courteously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation and administrative support tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain clinical confidentiality while managing sensitive patient information preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, documentation review, and data entry tasks.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while providing outstanding patient service.
