The Role A positive, polished, self-directed hospitality professional to join our Catering Division as a Catering Event Lead. You'll be the on-site point person for our clients and venue partners, and the leader your team looks to when plans change on the fly. Great fit for a rising captain, supervisor, or lead ready for real ownership.
What You’ll Own
- Review BEOs, checklists, floor plans, and timelines to guide setup, execution, and staff planning.
- Partner with the Chef Lead to keep culinary and front-of-house moving as one team.
- Act as SaltBlock’s onsite point of contact for staff, clients, planners, and venue representatives.
- Oversee service areas, food stations, décor, and third-party rentals from load-in through packing.
- Lead and delegate to a team of up to 30 staff, owning service quality and professionalism behind the scenes and on the floor.
- Anticipate and manage logistical needs including food delivery timing, staff placement, and on-site coordination before problems become delays.
- Communicate key event details, menus, timelines, and service expectations clearly to ensure alignment across all team members.
- Handle post-event quality checks, submit timely feedback, and complete ongoing training and cross-training.
What Makes You Great At This
- Calm, confident decision-making under pressure — you adapt service plans in real time.
- Clear, professional communication with clients, staff, and vendors.
- A team-first, proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
- Detail-oriented and timeline-driven, with strong follow-through.
- Working knowledge of food safety standards and responsible alcohol service.
