Events Coordinator
Type: Full-time
Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM EST
Location: In-office, downtown Orlando, FL
Compensation: $35,000–$45,000 + plus opportunity for bonuses
About the role
Cornerstone helps people experiencing financial instability establish a career path, build a career path, launch a business, or expand their business. This role is the engine behind that mission on the ground: planning and running events, building the materials that support them, and getting on stage to represent what Cornerstone is doing.
You'll ramp toward a target of ~12 events a month — that's the ceiling we're building toward, not what's expected on day one. Early on, the focus is learning the ropes: running smaller events well, building your speaking and negotiating confidence, and developing the playbook that lets you scale up.
What you'll do
- Plan and run community events — workshops, resource fairs, speaker sessions, and meetups — building up toward ~12/month as you ramp
- Design event booklets/programs and flyers (Canva-level tools, claude, chatgpt training provided, no design background required)
- Source, tour, and negotiate space/rate deals directly with hotels and venues around Orlando
- Host and speak at events — comfortable on a mic in front of crowds ranging from a dozen to several hundred
- Handle day-of logistics: signage, AV, catering, check-in, volunteer coordination
- Build a repeatable event playbook/calendar so quality holds as pace increases
- Track budget, attendance, and vendor relationships; report back weekly
Who we're looking for
- High-energy, outgoing, genuinely comfortable being the person on stage
- Willing to learn, no professional event-planning background required
- Organized enough to run multiple events a week without things slipping, and to grow into that pace over time
- Mission-driven: actually motivated by helping people rebuild their lives, not just "into events"
- Can hold their own negotiating with a hotel sales rep with zero prior experience, if given a script/training
Nice to have, not required
- Past hosting, hospitality, sales, or public-speaking experience
- Existing Orlando venue relationships
- Comfort with basic design tools
