About the Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional operations leader to help drive the next stage of growth for our company.
This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for optimizing how our business operates across sales, inventory, supply chain, finance, systems, and customer fulfillment. The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with a willingness to work hands-on, understanding the details that drive operational excellence while building the systems and processes that enable scale.
Our business is anything but typical. We sell nationally through multiple channels—including major retailers, e-commerce, marketplaces, direct-to-consumer, distributors, and international partners. Each channel has unique operational requirements, making this role ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex business challenges and building scalable operational infrastructure.
This is not a role for someone who simply oversees operations. We are looking for a leader who wants to understand every aspect of the business, challenge assumptions, leverage data, improve decision-making, and build processes that support long-term growth.
Primary Responsibilities
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute operational strategies that improve profitability, scalability, and customer experience.
- Develop deep knowledge of every major business function and continuously identify opportunities for improvement.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives spanning sales operations, inventory planning, purchasing, logistics, customer service, finance, systems, and product operations.
- Design, document, implement, and continuously improve business processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Establish operational metrics, dashboards, and reporting that enable data-driven decision making.
- Analyze operational and financial performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Work closely with Finance to understand profitability, margins, inventory investment, cash flow, and operational expenses.
- Ensure operational execution supports the unique requirements of each sales channel while maintaining consistency and efficiency.
- Drive accountability across departments while mentoring team members and developing future leaders.
- Lead operational change initiatives, ensuring new processes are successfully implemented and adopted throughout the organization.
- Become a subject matter expert in the company's ERP and operational systems, identifying opportunities for automation, integration, and process improvement.
- Maintain a willingness to personally investigate issues, understand root causes, and solve complex operational problems.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has successfully operated within a growing consumer products business and understands the operational complexities of selling products through multiple national sales channels.
Candidates should possess:
- 10+ years of progressive operational leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success leading operations within a consumer products, manufacturing, wholesale, distribution, or omnichannel retail business.
- Deep understanding of national retail, e-commerce, marketplace, dealer/distributor, and direct-to-consumer business models.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, purchasing, inventory planning, warehousing, transportation, and order fulfillment.
- Significant experience with ERP systems and business process optimization.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to understand P&L performance, gross margins, inventory turns, working capital, forecasting, and cash flow.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate data into business decisions.
- Proven success leading cross-functional initiatives and managing organizational change.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for building scalable systems.
What Will Differentiate You
We're looking for someone who naturally asks "Why?", loves getting into the details, and isn't satisfied until they understand how everything works.
You have a passion for operational excellence and the ability to transform ideas into documented, repeatable processes. You develop comprehensive SOPs, ensure they are adopted through effective training, and continuously improve them to support a growing business.
You are equally comfortable discussing strategic initiatives with the executive team, reviewing inventory projections, improving ERP workflows, analyzing margin by sales channel, documenting operational processes, or working alongside employees to understand how work actually gets done.
You have built systems, not just managed them.
You have improved businesses, not simply maintained them.
You are a coach and mentor who elevates those around you. You develop capable, knowledgeable teams by sharing expertise, creating accountability, and empowering others to make sound decisions.
Most importantly, you recognize that in a growing entrepreneurial company, leadership means rolling up your sleeves. You are energized by complexity, comfortable with change, and motivated by the opportunity to build something exceptional.
