Irrigation tech
The Irrigation Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of residential & commercial irrigation systems. This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and the capability to diagnose issues efficiently. The ideal candidate has hands-on irrigation experience and can work independently or as part of a project crew.
Key Responsibilities
-Inspect and maintain irrigation systems, including valves, controllers, pumps, piping, and drip systems. For residential, inspect the system and provide the homeowner with a quote for repairs/ recommendations.
-Troubleshoot and repair irrigation leaks, wiring issues, coverage problems, and malfunctioning components
-Perform system startups, winterizations, and seasonal adjustments
-Program and adjust irrigation timers/controllers (traditional and smart systems)
-Conduct site inspections to evaluate system performance and identify deficiencies
-Ensure compliance with local codes, water restrictions, and industry best practices
-Maintain accurate service records, documentation, and daily reports
-Work collaboratively with landscape crews, project managers, and clients
-Operate hand tools, trenchers, vibratory plows, and related equipment safely
Qualifications
-2+ years of irrigation installation or service experience (preferred)
-Strong knowledge of irrigation components: valves, heads, piping, backflow assemblies, and controllers
- Ability to diagnose electrical and hydraulic irrigation issues
-Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean driving record
-Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in varying weather conditions
-Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
-TCEQ Irrigation Technician or Licensed Irrigator (preferred but not required)
-Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 50+ lbs
-Frequent standing, bending, digging, and use of hand tools
-Working outdoors for extended periods
