Join Kenco Fleet Services as a Service Technician and help keep our customers’ Material Handling Equipment (MHE) running safely and efficiently.
About the Position - 2nd Shift Monday - Friday
As a Service Technician, you will perform maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance on Forklift and other Material Handling Equipment (MHE) across our customer locations. This includes forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and other warehouse equipment.
You’ll work independently, interact directly with customers, and diagnose issues using your mechanical expertise — all while enjoying consistent hours and weekly pay.
What You Will Do
- Repair and maintain all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) according to site standards
- Schedule and complete preventative maintenance (PMs), including documentation and record-keeping
- Inspect forklifts and operating equipment to ensure OSHA and operational compliance
- Haul or move equipment between the shop and customer sites
- Use service manuals, parts diagrams, and schematics to troubleshoot engines, fuel systems, transmissions, and electrical/hydraulic components
- Communicate equipment abuse, damages, or safety concerns with detailed explanations
- Work with the KFS Parts Manager to request parts and maintain proper inventory
- Maintain accurate service records, PM logs, and repair documentation
- Test safety equipment and ensure all repairs meet OSHA expectations
- Provide professional customer service and maintain a clean, organized work area
What You’ll Definitely Need
- High school diploma, GED, or technical school graduate
- Minimum 2 years of mechanic experience (automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, AG, or MHE experience all considered)
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
- Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Self-directed, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Able to frequently lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Must supply your own mechanic hand tools
- Must be able to safely operate lift trucks

Experience:
- Hydraulics: 1 year (Preferred)
- Automotive or Heavy Equipment Mechanic: 2 years (Preferred)
