The Home Guardian provides high-quality property management and short-term rental services throughout the Lake Oconee area. We focus on reliability, attention to detail, proactive home care, and exceptional guest experiences.
We're looking for a Property Maintenance & Inspector to become our primary in-house maintenance professional. This role is primarily responsible for performing handyman and preventative maintenance work across our portfolio of vacation homes while also assisting with scheduled property inspections to ensure each home meets our quality standards.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on position for someone who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and taking ownership of projects. Every day brings something different—from completing paint touch-ups and repairing appliances to responding to urgent maintenance issues and conducting property inspections.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete general handyman repairs including drywall, paint touch-ups, caulking, hardware replacement, fixture installation, and other routine home maintenance
- Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on household appliances and home systems
- Respond to maintenance work orders efficiently and prioritize emergency repair requests
- Assess maintenance issues and determine the appropriate solution, including coordinating with third-party vendors when specialized repairs are needed
- Perform preventative maintenance to help reduce future repairs and extend the life of home systems
- Assist with scheduled property inspections to verify homes are guest-ready and meet company standards
- Verify completed work by vendors and contractors
- Identify safety concerns, maintenance needs, and opportunities for preventative repairs
- Take photos and document all inspections, repairs, and maintenance updates using company software and mobile applications
- Maintain accurate records and communicate progress with management throughout each job
- Ensure company vehicles, tools, and equipment remain organized and in good working condition
Requirements
- Previous handyman, maintenance, facilities, construction, or property management experience preferred
- Comfortable performing a wide variety of residential repairs with minimal supervision
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and time management abilities
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple work orders and changing priorities
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and software platforms to document work and communicate updates
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work including climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and working outdoors
- Available to work occasional weekends, holidays, or after-hours when emergency maintenance situations arise
