This engaging contract role focuses on delivering individualized support to students in a dynamic, inclusive educational environment, beginning August 19, 2026, and concluding June 14, 2027. You’ll partner with a forward-thinking team, dedicated to supporting student growth both academically and socially.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid Vermont Professional Teaching License with one of the following: Special Educator Endorsement, Special Education Consulting Teacher Endorsement, or Intensive Special Education Teacher Endorsement
- Prior experience working with students with disabilities, including executive function challenges, Autism, severe behaviors, or high-functioning Autism
- Creativity and a flexible mindset—especially for pilot program roles
- Commitment to collaborative, innovative instructional practices
- Fingerprinting clearance (transferable from recent Vermont school assignments if applicable)
- Strong communication skills and a passion for individualized student support
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support within either a high school or elementary setting
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team (including PT/OT staff for elementary placements)
- Help develop and implement pilot initiatives aimed at preparing high school students for real-world employment and daily living skills
- Support students working towards academic milestones in reading, writing, math, and important life skills
- Participate in professional development and contribute to a positive, solutions-oriented school culture
