Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and detail-oriented Overnight Pet Care & Facility Attendant to provide exceptional overnight care for our canine guests. This role is responsible for monitoring the health, safety, and comfort of dogs, administering feedings and medications, maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, and preparing the facility for the next day's operations.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, takes initiative, and is passionate about animal care.
Essential Responsibilities:
Pet Care
- Monitor dogs throughout the night to ensure their safety, comfort, and well-being.
- Observe and report any changes in behavior, health, or activity level.
- Feed pets according to individualized schedules and instructions.
- Administer medications as directed and accurately document administration.
- Provide potty breaks and general overnight care as needed.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and notify management when necessary.
Facility Cleaning & Maintenance
- Perform deep cleaning and sanitization of kennels, play areas, and common spaces.
- Clean and disinfect food and water bowls, bedding, and pet equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness standards throughout the facility.
- Complete laundry tasks, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens and bedding.
Opening Preparation
- Reset customer-facing areas to ensure the facility is clean, organized, and welcoming for clients and pets.
- Prepare boarding and daycare areas for the morning team.
- Complete opening preparation tasks to support a smooth transition between overnight and daytime operations.
- Ensure dog accommodations, common areas, and workspaces are clean and ready for the following day's activities.
- Communicate any overnight observations, concerns, or incidents to the incoming team.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Previous experience working with animals is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable handling dogs of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and cleaning throughout the shift.
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance are required.
Schedule Requirements
- Overnight shift: 8:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Holiday availability is required, as these are our busiest periods.
