About World Class Distributor (WCD)
World Class Distributor (WCD) is looking for an experienced and results-driven Operations Manager to oversee and optimize our day-to-day warehouse and distribution operations. This position is responsible for leading warehouse teams, improving operational efficiency, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring orders are received, processed, and shipped accurately and on time.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can balance people management, productivity, customer service, inventory control, and operational excellence in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily warehouse and distribution operations, including receiving, inventory, order fulfillment, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse supervisors and team members.
- Establish clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable for productivity, accuracy, attendance, safety, and quality.
- Plan daily staffing and workflow to ensure operational demands are met.
- Monitor warehouse productivity and identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and service levels.
- Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and shipped on schedule.
- Maintain high standards for inventory accuracy and warehouse organization.
- Work closely with Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service, Inventory Control, and other departments to resolve operational issues.
- Oversee receiving operations and ensure inbound merchandise is accurately received, inspected, documented, and put away.
- Monitor inventory levels, discrepancies, damages, and product movement.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures and best practices.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve workflow and reduce operating costs.
- Ensure warehouse equipment, material-handling equipment, and facilities are properly maintained.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Enforce all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Monitor warehouse labor and operating expenses and work toward cost-control objectives.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, order accuracy, inventory accuracy, receiving performance, and shipping performance.
- Participate in hiring, training, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and employee development.
- Assist senior management with operational planning, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic initiatives.
- Lead continuous-improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and support company growth.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or operations management.
- Previous experience managing supervisors and warehouse teams.
- Strong understanding of receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, and distribution operations.
- Proven ability to improve productivity, processes, and operational efficiency.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with WMS, ERP, inventory management, or warehouse software preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, preferred.
- Forklift experience/certification is a plus.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety and warehouse best practices.
- Ability to work hands-on in a warehouse environment and lead by example.
