American Traveler is hiring an EEG Technologist at a pediatric teaching hospital, requiring 3 years of experience and BLS certification, with the ability to float across multiple units.

13-week contract at a large pediatric academic medical center
-
EEG department with exposure to a wide range of neuro diagnostics
-
Work settings include Adult ICU, Adult Inpatient, Adult Outpatient, ED, Level 1 Trauma, NICU, and PICU
-
Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM

Floating to different units is a requirement for most positions

Epic EMR (preferred)

Patient ratio of 1:4

Minimum of 3 years of EEG Technologist experience

Current BLS certification required
-
ABRET certification preferred
-
2 supervisory or managerial references required for consideration; at least one must be a supervisor or manager (charge nurse references are not accepted)

License required if applicable

Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Cannot have worked permanently at this facility within the past 2 years

Ability and willingness to float to different units as needed

Procedures performed include electrode placement, routine EEG, sleep EEG, sleep-deprived EEG, portable recording, long-term/video monitoring, ambulatory EEG, ECI brain death studies, evoked potentials (auditory, motor, somatosensory/SSEP, visual), and assistance with EMG/nerve conduction studies

Responsible for checking, operating, and calibrating electromyographic equipment in accordance with standard procedures

First-time travelers will be considered for this position

Orientation begins on a Monday; candidates must be flexible during the first two weeks as the schedule may vary

Teaching hospital and community hospital experience are both preferred

No-call/no-show incidents are taken very seriously and may result in disciplinary action up to termination
