At Cyber Security Services (CSS), headquartered in Westerville, Ohio, we provide penetration testing, Virtual CISO, risk assessments, and managed security services to organizations ranging from higher education to healthcare, financial services, and Fortune 100 enterprises. We are seeking a skilled penetration tester to join our team on a part-time, project-based basis to support our growing client base.
Role Overview
We are looking for a part-time / on-demand Penetration Tester who can support project work during evenings and weekends. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on technical experience, is comfortable interfacing directly with clients, and can independently run engagements end-to-end—from scoping to final presentation.
Responsibilities
- Participate in scoping discussions and kickoff calls with clients.
- Perform penetration tests across external, internal, cloud, web, and application environments.
- Document findings with clear, actionable remediation steps.
- Write professional-grade reports tailored to technical and executive audiences.
- Present findings and remediation recommendations directly to clients.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, walking clients through the entire testing process.
Qualifications
- Must be based in the United States (remote).
- OSCP certification preferred (other relevant certifications a plus).
- Prior hands-on experience as a penetration tester (consulting experience strongly preferred).
- Strong technical skills in offensive security, with a proven methodology.
- Demonstrated ability to write clear, detailed penetration test reports.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Availability for nights and weekends project work.
