BACKGROUND
Girls Incorporated of New York City (GINYC) delivers life-changing programs that inspire girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Research-based curricula, delivered by trained professionals, equip girls to achieve academically; lead healthy and physically active lives; manage money; navigate media messages; and discover an interest in science, technology, engineering, and math. GINYC is an independent affiliate of the national Girls Incorporated network, the nation’s leading expert on issues affecting girls and young women.
The Program Coordinator of College & Career Readiness/ Project REACH plays a key role in supporting the outreach, communication, and execution of GINYC’s college and career programming. Reporting to the Program Manager, this role is responsible for driving student engagement, supporting program and event coordination, and ensuring strong communication across participants, partners, and internal teams.
This is an execution-focused role for someone who is highly organized, creative, and relationship-driven, with a strong background in outreach, marketing, and communications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Outreach & Recruitment
● Lead outreach efforts to recruit and engage high school and college participants across programs.
● Build and maintain strong relationships with students, schools, and community partners to drive participation.
● Support outreach campaigns for key initiatives, including mentorship, leadership development, and career readiness programs.
Communications & Marketing
● Develop and manage program communications, including emails, newsletters, and participant updates.
● Design engaging outreach materials (flyers, social media graphics, presentations) to support program visibility and recruitment.
● Support the promotion of events, workshops, and opportunities through digital and in-person channels.
Program & Event Coordination
● Support the planning and execution of workshops, networking events, career panels, and student experiences.
● Coordinate logistics for program delivery, including scheduling, materials, and participant communication.
● Provide on-site and virtual support during events to ensure smooth execution.
Student Engagement & Relationship Building
● Serve as a key point of contact for students, maintaining consistent communication and follow-up.
● Support ongoing engagement efforts to ensure strong participation and retention across programs.
● Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment that encourages connection and community.
Data Entry & Program Tracking
● Maintain accurate program records, including attendance, participation, and engagement data.
● Support data entry and tracking across systems to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
● Assist in collecting surveys and feedback to support program evaluation efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
● Bachelor’s degree required.
● 2–3+ years of experience in youth development, education, outreach, marketing, or a related field.
● Strong background in communications, outreach, and/or marketing (including graphic design experience).
● Experience coordinating events, workshops, or programs.
● Strong relationship-building skills, particularly with youth.
● Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
● Proficiency in Google Suite; experience with design tools (Canva, Adobe, etc.) strongly preferred.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
The Program Coordinator - College & Career Readiness/ Project REACH reports directly to the Program Manager, College & Career Readiness.
SCHEDULE:
This is a full-time, 40-hour/week position. Typical hours are Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., with flexibility for some nights and weekend hours as required.
COMPENSATION:
