Reed City Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Mathematics Teacher to join our Coyote family. Responsibilities

Instructional Design: Design and deliver engaging instruction rooted in the Vibrant Learning framework, intentionally balancing academic content, depth of knowledge, and the development of students' personal skills to align with Michigan K-12 Standards for Mathematics.

Student Ownership: Utilize the Gradual Release of Responsibility model to build student confidence, mathematical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and ownership of their learning.

Collaborative Teaming: Actively participate in High-Performing Groups (HPGs), engaging in collective inquiry, data analysis, and instructional calibration with your middle school grade-level and content-area colleagues.

Whole-Child Support: Support the whole child by engaging with our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework and using district tools to foster student well-being, a sense of purpose, and behavioral regulation.

Assessment & Growth: Assess and evaluate student growth through varied formative and summative methods, utilizing data to guide instruction, differentiate support, and celebrate student success.

Classroom Culture: Create an inclusive, welcoming classroom environment that encourages student voice, models positive behavior, and demystifies math by fostering a collaborative community of problem solvers.

Community Engagement: Partner with Reed City families and guardians through regular, positive communication regarding student progress and classroom activities.

Professional Growth: Actively participate in RCAPS professional development to enhance teaching practices and stay current with best practices in education and mathematics instruction.

School Involvement: Be an active presence in our school community by supporting school events, extracurricular initiatives, parent-teacher conferences, and staff collaborations.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.

Valid State of Michigan teaching certification to teach middle school mathematics. (Accepted MDE Endorsements: Traditional Secondary Math [EX], Middle Grades Math [EQ], or Upper Elementary [ZP].) Note: Placement in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade will be determined by candidate strengths and specific certification limits.

Valid State of Michigan teaching certification in Mathematics with appropriate middle school endorsements.

Experience teaching middle school students (or a strong desire to work with this specific age group) is highly preferred.

Strong working knowledge of middle school math curriculum, evidence-based instructional strategies, and MTSS.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with students, colleagues, and the broader Reed City community.

Proven ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners.

Proficiency in using educational technology and software to enhance teaching and learning.
