**This is a full-time, year-round position**
The Assistant Montessori Teacher is responsible for supporting the Montessori method under the supervision of the Lead Montessori Teacher. You will support the academic, social emotional growth and development of all children in your care. You will collaborate and work alongside other Lead and Assistant Montessori Teachers to provide high quality care both inside and outside the classroom. During different times of the day you may be in a classroom supporting Lead Teachers, floating from classroom to classroom providing breaks or other support, and running the extended day program. You will be a key member of the extended day program helping to develop a program that is safe, engaging, and fun for both teachers and students. **This position is part of the closing staff for the school (the end of the school day is 4:30pm)**
Qualifications:
- Work alongside the Lead Teachers to ensure students are receiving a high-quality Montessori program. This may include delivering Montessori lessons according to readiness determined by Lead Teachers.
- Maintain a beautiful classroom environment that is prepared, organized, and complete everyday to inspire your students desire to engage in the work. This includes indoor and outdoor spaces. Responsibilities may include laundry, cleaning classroom areas/common areas, refilling supplies, etc.
- Respect all students, parents, and colleagues using Grace and Courtesy in all interactions.
- Provide high quality care for children that consists of daily routines and systems, and by meeting their hygienic and nutritional needs. Also, meeting the needs of Colorado Licensing Rules and Regulations.
- Support Lead Teachers in maintaining accurate daily records and taking high-quality pictures.
- Maintain open and honest communication that is professional and grammatically correct.
- Report student progress and behaviors as pertaining to extended day programming.
- Collaborate with other Assistant Teachers to develop and execute an enriching and engaging extended day program.
- Participate in both in school and out of school events, may include nights and weekends.
- Keep accurate records including attendance, incident and ouch reports, and any other records directed by your Lead Teacher.
- The duties and responsibilities of this role may be fluid and will require flexibility and the ability to adapt to day to day challenges and needs.
- Experience working in childcare preferred.
- Must complete all prerequisites through Colorado Shines.
- Must complete a background check.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
