Automation Maintenance Technician
Shifts Available:
- Shift 3: 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM, Saturday through Monday
- Shift 4: 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM, Saturday through Monday
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Automation Maintenance Technician for a temporary position. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining automated material handling systems and associated equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills, experience with automated warehouse systems, and the ability to diagnose and repair PLC-controlled equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair:
- Conveyors
- ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval System) cranes
- Mini-load shuttle systems
- Automated material handling equipment
- Perform electrical and mechanical repairs on industrial equipment and PLC-controlled systems.
- Troubleshoot AC electrical systems up to 480 VAC and DC control circuits.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and assembly drawings.
- Identify potential equipment issues before they result in failures and communicate findings to leadership.
- Perform preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Accurately document maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and equipment issues.
- Communicate and manage parts, tools, and supply requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and safe work practices.
Core Technical Skills RequiredElectrical
- Ability to troubleshoot AC electrical systems up to 480 VAC.
- Understanding of DC control circuits.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Experience diagnosing electrical faults and control system issues.
- PLC troubleshooting and basic ladder logic knowledge.
Mechanical
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Ability to read blueprints and assembly drawings.
- Knowledge of industrial maintenance tools, equipment, materials, and practices.
Industrial Maintenance
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
- Experience maintaining material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of building and equipment systems maintenance.
- Experience troubleshooting automated warehouse or distribution equipment is highly preferred.
Computer Skills
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Windows.
- Ability to use maintenance management software, RF devices, computers, and electronic displays.
- Ability to accurately enter and retrieve maintenance information electronically.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous industrial maintenance experience.
- Electrical troubleshooting experience up to 480V.
- PLC troubleshooting and ladder logic experience.
- Experience with conveyors and automated warehouse systems.
- Preventive maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong safety awareness and knowledge of OSHA compliance.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a maintenance team.
Schedule
Temporary Weekend Schedule
- Shift 3: Saturday – Monday, 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM
- Shift 4: Saturday – Monday, 6:30 PM – 6:30 AM
This position requires the ability to work the assigned 12-hour weekend shift and respond effectively to equipment issues in a fast-paced automated environment.
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
