SHIFT HOURS: Monday - Thursday, 6am - 4:30pm
Summary/Objective
-
Provide production work centers with raw material as required on a timely and accurate basis
-
Set up and operate materials' department equipment to cut and prep raw material for various operations
-
Receive raw material from vendors
Essential Functions
-
Mark and issue bar stock to operating departments
-
Set up and operate saw to cut slugs to order
-
Maintain raw material inventory levels per schedule requirements or established Kanban's
-
Set up and operate department saw, sheer, wheelbarrow and bar marking machine
-
Package tubing per orders
-
Operate forklift and other lifting devices as needed
-
Load and unload vendor trucks and move material throughout the work site
-
Operate PC to locate material and enter required data
-
Use stamper for metric forgings
-
Receive raw stock from suppliers and processed parts from subcontractors, removing material from containers as necessary, and recording required information
-
Operate the Prab machine as needed
-
Apply lean manufacturing/continuous improvement methods and tools to make work
-
Other duties as assigned
Competencies
-
Ability to operate forklifts and other lifting devices (being certified as a forklift operator)
-
Ability to setup and operate a variety of equipment used in material handling
-
PD skills for data retrieval entry
-
Basic knowledge and ability to use measuring tools and applications
-
Attention to detail
-
Good verbal communication skills to interact with various associates and vendors
-
Basic shop math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
Work Environment
-
Manufacturing shop environment, working with power tools and equipment
-
Ability to lift 75 pounds of metal parts and raw stock without assistance
-
Working with metal chips and sharp edges
-
Forklift certification within one month of hire
-
Personal protective equipment (i.e. safety glasses, steel toe shoes are required)

Exposure to various machine oils and fluids
-
Many hours of standing/walking involved (10+)

- 1+ years working in a manufacturing environment, preferable metal working

2+ years of forklift operations and material handling experience, preferably in a metal working environment
