Duties
- Thoroughly wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen tools following food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed to support kitchen staff.
- Clear and buss tables promptly to maintain cleanliness in dining areas.
- Operate dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Handle manual lifting of heavy items such as large pots, crates of supplies, and bulk dishware while adhering to proper manual handling techniques.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the kitchen area in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Support overall kitchen cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, and organizing storage areas regularly.
Qualifications
- Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety management and sanitation practices is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with operating basic kitchen equipment such as dishwashers and sanitizing stations.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting colleagues in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knife skills or experience with food handling are a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for specific duties.
