Job Purpose:
- The MA Recovery Specialist at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing comprehensive recovery support services to individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. This role involves working collaboratively with clients, healthcare professionals, and community resources to facilitate recovery and improve quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine the needs and strengths of clients, developing individualized recovery plans.
- Provide direct support and guidance to clients in both individual and group settings, focusing on recovery goals and strategies.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including therapists and case managers, to coordinate care and ensure continuity of services.
- Facilitate access to community resources, including housing, employment, and educational opportunities, to support client recovery.
- Monitor and document client progress, adjusting recovery plans as necessary to reflect changes in client needs and goals.
- Educate clients and their families about mental health and substance use disorders, promoting understanding and engagement in the recovery process.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in recovery support.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all client interactions and documentation.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mental health or substance abuse recovery settings.
- Experience working with diverse populations and understanding of cultural competencies.
- Proven track record of successful case management and client advocacy.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of recovery principles and practices in mental health and substance abuse.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, families, and professionals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using electronic health records and other relevant software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of mental health recovery.
