Class B Route Driver
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Class B Route Driver to join our Transportation team. In this role, you will operate commercial Bobtail trucks to deliver and pick up products from retailers and shuttle locations. As a representative of our company, you will interact directly with customers and vendors and are expected to provide professional, courteous service.
What You’ll Do
- Safely operate commercial Bobtail trucks of various sizes.
- Deliver and pick up products from retailers and shuttle locations.
- Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues.
- Operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and hand pallet jacks.
- Operate truck refrigeration units and lift gates.
- Reconcile invoices with customers, including collecting payments and issuing store credits.
- Complete daily driver logs, trip sheets, invoices, and vehicle condition reports.
- Maintain a clean driving record and current DOT physical.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and all levels of management.
- Participate in required DOT pull notice and random testing programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- High school diploma/GED and approximately 5 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and write English.
- Ability to read maps and follow GPS directions.
- Ability to safely drive in traffic and varying weather conditions.
- Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Ability to operate refrigeration units and truck lift gates.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, and perform other physical activities associated with loading and unloading products.
- Ability to work in changing temperatures and humid conditions and around moving mechanical equipment.
This is a non-exempt position reporting to the Transportation Manager.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
