Paralegal Position
Honolulu firm is seeking to hire a full-time paralegal for its workers’ compensation insurance defense section.
Paralegal Job Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the preparation of documents
- Assisting with the preparation, filing and service of pleadings
- Organizing and managing documents and files
- Assisting with litigation matters, including discovery and trial preparation
- Occasional legal research
- Familiar with utilization of medical records
Preferred Paralegal Minimum Qualifications include:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate issued by an ABA certified paralegal program
- 3 to 5 years of paralegal experience, specifically in the areas of litigation, insurance law, drafting of documents (preferred, however, willing to train)
- Proficient with Word Perfect and/or Word and Adobe Acrobat
- Efficient and detail-oriented
- Eager and willing to learn
- Excellent document management and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of how to perform legal research and has proficient investigative skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Salary is commensurate with experience. Benefits include 401(k) after one year of employment, health and dental insurance, group life insurance, vacation and personal leave.
