American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN with at least 2 years of CVOR experience and prior travel experience for a 13-week contract at a major academic medical center in Michigan.

Work in the Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) of a large academic medical center
-
High-acuity adult patient population including cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery cases
-
Cardiac procedures include CABG, MVR, AVR, MAZE, ECMO, Heart Transplant, LVAD/RVAD, Aortic Balloon/Impella Devices, and Aortic Aneurysm Repair
-
Thoracic procedures include VATS Wedge Resection, VATS/Open Lobectomy, Esophagectomy, Bronchoscopy, EGD, Mediastinal Mass Removal, Lung Transplant, and Laparoscopic & Open Hiatal Hernia Repair

Vascular procedures include AAA, EVAR, Carotid Endarterectomy, AV Fistulas, Fem-distal/Fem-fem Bypass, SMA Bypass, and Vein Stripping/Ablation

Shift schedule rotates between days and evenings: 2x8s and 2x12s (06:30–14:30 / 14:30–22:30 and 06:30–18:30 / 10:30–22:30); option for D/E rotating 5x8s also available

Day and evening shift rotation is required

Call requirements include 2–4 weeknight call shifts and 1–2 weekend call shifts per 4-week schedule

No call shift exceeds 12 hours; weekend call is either Friday and Saturday nights OR Saturday and Sunday days only

Active Michigan (MI) RN license required

Current BLS certification required

Minimum 2 years of CVOR RN experience required

Prior travel nursing experience required

Strong scrub experience required (must reflect a 3 or 4 on skills checklist)

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Flu vaccination required (no exemptions, including religious or medical); candidates with allergies must receive the allergy-free flu vaccine option

Cannot have been previously employed by this health system within the last 12 months

Provides scrub and/or circulating RN care for complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical cases

Management is noted for flexibility with time-off requests and scheduling accommodations
-
Call program is structured to limit impact on personal time — no call shift exceeds 12 hours and weekend call is limited to a two-day window
-
Previous travelers have provided positive feedback about management and the overall team dynamic

All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at the time of consideration
