Fry Cook / Culinary Assistant

Kazoku is a growing culinary brand specializing in sushi, pho, poke, and fresh, high-quality offerings across Tampa Bay. From hospital cafeterias and university dining to live service events, our focus is simple: consistency, quality, and pride in every dish we serve.
We are seeking a Fry Cook / Culinary Assistant to support hot food production and help keep kitchen operations running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working on the hot line but is also willing to jump in wherever the team needs support.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and cook hot menu items including appetizers, bowls, cooked rolls, and other featured offerings
- Operate and maintain fry stations while ensuring food quality and consistency
- Support kitchen setup, breakdown, cleaning, and daily operations
- Assist with food prep, portioning, and ingredient preparation
- Maintain clean, stocked, and organized workstations throughout service
- Support the sushi and prep teams during high-volume periods
- Execute dishwashing, sweeping, mopping, and general kitchen upkeep
- Assist with product transport and restocking between locations as needed
- Work with urgency while maintaining Kazoku standards in every dish
What We're Looking For
- Previous fry cook, line cook, or kitchen experience preferred
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-volume environments
- Strong attention to detail and pride in food presentation
- Reliable, hardworking, and team-oriented
- Willingness to assist across different kitchen functions as needed
- Basic food safety and sanitation knowledge
- Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and quality standards consistently

Work Environment
This role operates in both kitchen prep and live service settings. Candidates should be comfortable standing for extended periods, lifting 30+ pounds, working around hot equipment, and performing in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
