We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) contingent upon the successful award of a federal contract. Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and interpret complex financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and federal regulatory requirements.
- Conduct detailed ledger reconciliations, including general ledger reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations.
- Develop and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to support accurate financial reporting.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliation and conduct monthly closing activities to ensure data integrity across all financial systems.
- Support regulatory reporting requirements by preparing documentation for audits, compliance reviews, and federal submissions.
- Assist in financial report writing and interpretation to facilitate strategic decision-making by leadership.
- Mentor junior staff members on best practices in accounting procedures, regulatory compliance, and software utilization to foster team growth.
Requirements
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required; eligibility contingent upon federal contract award.
- Must have at least three years of experience working with Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act Contract Support Cost issues.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, regulatory compliance accounting, SOX controls, and technical accounting standards.
- Technical personnel should have experience with ISDEAA, Contract Support Costs, CDA claims, direct and indirect cost analysis, negotiated indirect cost rate agreements, federal cost principles, Single Audits, and financial-document reconciliation.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial statement preparation, financial report interpretation, cash flow analysis, budget development, and forecasting.
- Must be able to complete a federal background investigation and disclose any potential conflicts involving claims they previously prepared or supported for Tribes or Tribal Organizations
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed account analysis and reconcile complex accounts accurately.
- Strong communication skills for clear report writing and effective mentoring of team members.
- Ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
