American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a MN RN license and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification.

Emergency Room unit within an acute care setting
-
Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4, rarely 5
-
Uses Allscripts, Paragon, and Touchworks EMR systems
-
Day/Night rotating 12-hour shifts
-
Every other weekend requirement, with every 3rd weekend also noted
-
Potential holiday coverage required
-
Floating required to Med Surg unit
-
Unit-specific orientation provided
-
24/7 in-house and on-call Respiratory Therapy support
-
24/7 in-house and remote Pharmacy support
-
Hospitalist coverage available
-
No charge nurse responsibilities

Nurse aide support available on unit

certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS, and TNCC
-
Active MN RN license required
-
Minimum 2 years of experience required

BSN not required for this position

Telemetry skills required with basic cardiology knowledge for strip reading

Experience with drips required

Occasional ventilator management with Respiratory Therapy support

Provide emergency nursing care in a fast-paced acute care ER setting

Collaborate with hospitalists and 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support teams

Unit-specific orientation provided prior to starting
