Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Independent Medical Courier Contractor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting medical specimens, supplies, and equipment between healthcare facilities, laboratories, and clinics. Your role is vital in ensuring timely, accurate deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service. This position offers flexibility and independence, allowing you to manage your own schedule while contributing to critical healthcare operations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a box truck or similar vehicle to transport medical items across designated routes
- Load and unload shipments using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, forklifts, or other equipment as needed
- Follow established routes efficiently while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safe driving practices
- Ensure accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and route logs in compliance with company protocols
- Maintain the integrity of medical shipments by handling items with care and following proper manual handling procedures
- Communicate effectively with dispatch or clients regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during transit
- Uphold safety standards by practicing safe lifting techniques, managing weight handling in the workplace, and complying with all relevant safety regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, preferably within a warehouse or logistics environment
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience preferred
- Experience operating box trucks or vehicles with manual transmission is highly desirable
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks is a plus
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and heavy lifting safety practices required for handling medical supplies
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate professionally and courteously
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely and efficiently
- Prior experience in route driving, moving shipments, or courier services is advantageous

✅ Must pass a background check
✅ Must pass a motor vehicle/driving record check
✅ Must have a valid driver’s license
✅ Must have your own reliable vehicle (vehicle must be no more than 10 years old)
✅ Vehicle registration must be in your name
✅ Commercial auto insurance must be in your name
✅ Must carry commercial insurance coverage up to $1 million (driver is responsible for obtaining and paying for this insurance)
✅ Must provide all required documents for company and client approval
Because you will be transporting medical supplies, pharmacy deliveries, and hospital-related items, your vehicle must meet professional standards:
✅ Vehicle must stay clean inside and outside at all times
✅ No smoking or strong odors inside the vehicle
✅ Vehicle may be inspected by our company or healthcare clients
✅ Must maintain a professional appearance and represent our company properly
Vehicle Type and Earning Potential:
The type of vehicle you have can affect the number of jobs you qualify for and your earning potential.
✅ If you have a Sprinter van, cargo van, or larger commercial vehicle, you may qualify for larger delivery opportunities and have the potential to earn more money.
✅ If you have an SUV, truck, or larger vehicle, you may also qualify for additional delivery opportunities.
✅ If you have a regular car, you can still make money and receive available courier jobs that fit your vehicle size.
The more capacity your vehicle has and the more available you are, the more opportunities you may have to increase your weekly income.
Income and Availability:
Our dispatcher company works to provide drivers with most of the income generated from the jobs completed that week. The amount you earn will depend on the number of jobs available and the jobs you accept.
Jobs may be available at different times throughout the day, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and other scheduled times. You must understand that the more available you are, the more opportunities you will have to earn more money.
