Overview
BOOKEEPER are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation activities, ensuring timely delivery of freight, and maintaining efficient communication with drivers and clients. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to analyze data effectively, and proficiency in various transportation management systems.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule transportation activities to ensure timely deliveries.
- Utilize GIS and GPS tools to optimize routing and improve efficiency.
- Manage transportation planning and logistics for freight movement.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, including shipping and receiving documentation.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and team members via multi-line phone systems.
- Perform data entry tasks related to dispatching operations using Oracle Transportation Management or similar systems.
- Analyze transportation data to identify trends and improve operational performance.
- Collaborate with 3PL providers to ensure seamless logistics operations.
- Oversee fleet management activities to maintain vehicle readiness and compliance.
Skills
- Proficiency in GIS and GPS technologies for route optimization.
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes and transportation planning.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on phone etiquette.
- Ability to perform data entry accurately and efficiently.
- Familiarity with dispatching procedures and freight handling.
- Strong analytical skills to assess logistics performance metrics.
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving processes within a logistics environment.
- Experience managing multi-line phone systems effectively.
- Understanding of fleet management principles within the transportation sector.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
