Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed instructions and document all medication activities in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques
- Support residents in assisted living or long-term care settings by helping with meal preparation, light cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment
- Engage clients through social activities and companionship to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Drive clients safely to appointments or community activities when required, ensuring adherence to safety protocols
Qualifications
- Prior experience in home care, nursing homes, retirement homes, or group homes is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general
- IHSS Certification or training in first aid and CPR is preferred
- Ability to operate EMR systems for documentation purposes accurately
- Strong understanding of personal care techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Experience with Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for transportation duties
