Position Title: Cook
Reports To: Certified Dietary Manager
General summary: Responsible for providing assistance in all dietary functions to ensure residents’ dining needs are met in accordance with all laws, regulations, and Company standards.
Job Functions:
- Prepare and cook resident meals in quantities according to menu and number of persons served.
- Prepare meals according to proper methods and cooking temperatures for best utilization and yield of meats and other foods.
- Clean work area and equipment in accordance with sanitation requirements.
- Taste, smell, and observe all foods prepared to confirm with recipes, and good taste and appetizing appearance.
- Consistently prepare meals on time so that serving schedules are met.
- Assisting in the preparation and serving of meals and snacks in a timely manner
- Responsible for serving meals using proper portion control procedures.
- Serve meals using standards to maintain sanitation and quality.
- Store stock appropriately in order to maintain cleanliness and prevent food spoilage.
- Accurately record meals served and monitor temperatures of food.
- Responsible for cleaning work areas using appropriate sanitizing procedures.
- Wash dishes and/or utensils according to acceptable standards of practice.
- Ensure compliance with sanitation.
- Participate in menu planning.
- Ensures tray and meal accuracy, ensuring therapeutic diets, consistencies and preferences are accurate. adhere to universal precautions.
- Responsible for following sanitary and infection control policies and procedures.
- Responsible for daily cleaning duties. (i.e., sweeping, dishwashing, mopping).
- Ensuring that food and supplies are available upon request.
- Assist in inventorying and storing incoming food.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Healthcare food service experience preferred.

Pay: $16.00 - $16.25 per hour
