Oakes Animal Hospital is a privately owned, five-doctor small animal general practice dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality veterinary care. Our mission is simple:

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) who is passionate about animal care, enjoys working in a collaborative environment, and is committed to delivering exceptional service to our clients and patients.
Position Responsibilities
As a valued member of our medical team, you will:
- Assist veterinarians during appointments, examinations, treatments, and medical procedures.
- Obtain accurate patient histories and provide client education in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Safely and effectively restrain dogs and cats for examinations, diagnostics, and treatments.
- Monitor hospitalized patients and maintain proper husbandry and patient comfort.
- Prepare and dispense medications and prescriptions as directed by the veterinarians.
- Collect, prepare, and process samples for in-house and reference laboratory testing.
- Assist with digital radiography, including proper patient positioning and image acquisition.
- Maintain complete, accurate medical records and document client communications.
- Support the client service team by scheduling appointments and assisting with phone calls and text communications when needed.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming hospital environment, including exam rooms, treatment areas, and staff spaces.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital or clinic.
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) credentials preferred, but experienced Veterinary Assistants are encouraged to apply.
- Strong animal handling and restraint skills.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent communication and client service skills.
- The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality patient care.
Compensation & Benefits
Starting Pay: From $14.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
