Our company is building a permanent-home platform in orthopedic medical devices — distribution, implant manufacturing, surgical instruments, biologics, and AI-enabled surgical technology. We're assembling a cash-flowing, audited platform through a disciplined acquisition program and intend to access the public markets in the near term.
We're not private equity. We don't buy to flip, and we don't run companies on forced timelines or aggressive leverage. We acquire to hold, to operate, and to build — and we're looking for someone who wants to help originate and close the deals that define a platform from the ground up.
The role
This is a founding-level Corporate Development seat. You'll own deal sourcing and execution across orthopedic devices and adjacent manufacturing, working directly with leadership on a high-velocity acquisition pipeline.
What you'll do:
- Originate proprietary, off-market opportunities — orthopedic distributors, implant and instrument manufacturers, biologics, and adjacent device businesses
- Build and work relationships with founders, owner-operators, OEM channel veterans, CPAs, and lower-middle-market lenders who know this space
- Run deal flow end to end: outreach, qualification, LOIs, diligence coordination, and structuring through close
- Build the financial and strategic case for each target and help shape the integration thesis
- Partner with our CFO, counsel, and banking relationships as we move toward public-company readiness
Who we're looking for
- A genuine dealmaker — corporate development, M&A, investment banking, or transaction advisory background, ideally with medical device, healthcare, or industrial/manufacturing exposure
- Comfort operating in ambiguity at the front edge of a platform that's still being built
- Strong financial fluency (valuation, deal structuring, sources and uses) paired with the relationship instincts to win trust with owner-operators
- High ownership mentality — you'd rather originate and close five deals than manage a CRM
- Roll-up or buy-and-build experience is a strong plus
Why this seat is different
You'll be in the room as we build a real platform and pursue a public-markets path — not joining a mature org to maintain it. The economics are weighted toward equity and deal-driven upside, and you'll have direct line of sight to founders and capital decisions. If you've wanted to build the M&A engine rather than turn its crank, this is that.
