Job Title: Parts Technician
Position Overview: The Parts Tech is responsible for efficiently and accurately managing the flow of raw and finished parts in an anodizing facility. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining efficient workflow and ensuring the proper preparation and organization of parts before and after the anodizing process.
Key Responsibilities:
Racking and Unracking:
- Properly load and unload parts onto racks or fixtures, ensuring appropriate positioning and secure attachment.
- Unrack parts after the anodizing process and prepare them for subsequent stages.
- Follow established procedures and guidelines to ensure consistent quality and maximize the efficiency of the anodizing process.
Part Inspection:
- Conduct visual inspections of parts to identify any defects, damage, or irregularities before racking or processing.
- Conduct visual inspections of parts after processing or unracking to identify any defects, inconsistencies, or non-conformities.
- Report any issues to the appropriate personnel for further evaluation or corrective actions.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with other team members, such as anodizing operators and supervisors, to ensure smooth workflow and address any issues or concerns promptly.
- Communicate any changes or updates in racking procedures or techniques.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Assist with basic maintenance and cleaning of racks, hooks, and related fixturing equipment.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to appropriate personnel for prompt resolution.
Safety and Quality Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when/where required.
- Follow quality control procedures to maintain high standards and minimize the risk of part damage or contamination during racking and unracking operations.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Accurately record and maintain documentation related to parts racked, including batch numbers, quantities, and any necessary tracking information.
- Update inventory or production systems as required.
Housekeeping and Organization:
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including racking and un-racking stations, storage areas, and related equipment.
- Follow proper storage practices for racks, hooks, and other racking materials.
Qualifications and Skills:
· High school diploma or equivalent education.
· Prior experience in a similar parts handling role is preferred but not required.
· Attention to detail and ability to identify defects or irregularities in parts.
· Basic understanding of safety protocols and practices in an industrial setting.
· Strong teamwork and communication skills.
· Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
· Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in a non-climate-controlled, industrial environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
