About Latched Lake Country
Latched is hiring, and we are looking for the perfect RN, IBCLC to join our team! Latched Lake Country Southeast Wisconsin's largest outpatient lactation practice providing compassionate, evidence-based infant-feeding care throughout southeastern Wisconsin. Our team of Registered Nurses and International Board Certified Lactation Consultants supports families from prenatal preparation to the last latch.
We value a holistic and collaborative approach to lactation care. Our IBCLCs work closely with pediatricians, midwives, obstetric providers, dentists, ENTs, chiropractors, craniosacral therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, doulas, and other members of each family’s care team.
*We would also consider an NP or PA for this position.
Position Summary
Latched Lake Country is seeking a knowledgeable, compassionate, and dependable RN, IBCLC to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate is confident in providing individualized lactation care while helping families feel heard, respected, and supported.
An IBCLC in this position provides prenatal and postpartum consultations in-home, in-office, and virtually. The RN, IBCLC will conduct comprehensive maternal and infant assessments, develop evidence-based care plans, provide appropriate follow-up, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals when additional evaluation or treatment is indicated.
While our office is located in Hartland, you would not be required to see home visits in this area. We are looking for an additional IBCLC to support families in-home, in the Wauwatosa/Greenfield/Waukesha/West Bend areas, in addition to office visits if preferred.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive prenatal and postpartum lactation consultations
- Obtain and document relevant maternal, infant, pregnancy, birth, medical, and feeding histories
- Assess breastfeeding, bottle feeding, pumping, latch, positioning, milk transfer, maternal comfort, and efficacy of infant feeds
- Evaluate maternal breast health, milk production, and factors contributing to supply concerns
- Assess and support infant oral function
- Complete pre- and post-feed weights when clinically appropriate
- Support families with pumping, flange fitting, bottle-feeding, supplementation, formula use, milk storage, return-to-work planning, and combo feeding
- Develop individualized, realistic, and evidence-based plan of care that reflect each family’s individualized goals
- Provide clear education, written recommendations, referrals, and follow-up instructions
- Monitor client progress and adjust care plans as clinically indicated
- Recognize concerns requiring referral to a pediatric, obstetric, primary care, mental health, and other collaborative providers
- Maintain timely, accurate, and HIPAA-compliant clinical documentation
- Represent Latched Lake Country at community events, classes, and outreach opportunities
Required Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Wisconsin
- Current IBCLC certification in good standing
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong prenatal, postpartum, newborn, or pediatric clinical assessment skills
- Knowledge of current evidence-based lactation and infant-feeding practices
- Excellent communication, education, organization, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently while remaining collaborative and responsive to the clinical team
- Commitment to respectful, culturally responsive, family-centered care
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel for in-home consultations
- Ability to maintain all required professional credentials and continuing education
- Comfort using electronic health records, telehealth platforms, and other practice technology
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous postpartum, labor and delivery, SCN, NICU, pediatric, or outpatient lactation experience
- Experience supporting complex feeding concerns, including low milk supply, oral dysfunction, bottle refusal, painful feeding, poor weight gain, pumping challenges, and supplementation (thorough onboarding and education provided)
- Experience providing in-home or virtual healthcare services
- Familiarity with interdisciplinary care and community referral resources
