Duties
- Prepare and assemble sushi dishes with precision, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation
- Handle all aspects of food preparation, including slicing fish, rolling sushi, and creating garnishes
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with health regulations
- Plan menus that highlight seasonal ingredients and innovative flavor combinations
- Manage ingredients inventory, ensuring freshness and proper storage practices
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service flow
- Assist in catering events or special functions requiring sushi or Japanese cuisine expertise
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within fine dining or Japanese cuisine settings
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various sushi-making techniques
- Knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and sanitation standards
- Experience with menu planning, food preparation, and meal presentation
- Background in the food industry with restaurant or catering experience preferred
